SSD Firmware Update Tool does not have latest FW for S3500

The latest firmware for the DC S3500 SSD is D2012370. My drive had an older version, D2010370. The SSD firmware update tool ISO said this was the latest version, and refused to do an update.

I then tried the intel SSD toolbox application for windows, and that updated the drive to D2012370 no problem, so it's definitely an issue specific to the firmware update tool bootable ISO

Hi All,

Yes, I managed to break my SSD drive, not very proud of myself, but I did it anyway

I used wrong screw to install it to my motherboard (too big head), and so at least one ceramic capacitor is now gone and SSD is not working.

I am working in electronic assembly house, so we have the components and the skill to replace it, just need to know the value of it.

Can I find somewhere the schematic or bill of material of SSD? Or will I just put some 100nF capacitors there?

Thanks already!

Optane 900p SSD underperforming

$

Hi All,

I recently installed an Optane 900p 480gb SSD into my PC and it is underperforming on benchmarks. I have the SSD installed into a 4x PCIe slot on my motherboard. I wanted to reach out to the community to see if there is anything that I'm missing as far as optimization goes. The firmware installed is E2010325. I have Rapid Storage technology activated in my BIOS.

Windows 10 OS

CPU: Intel 8700k

MOBO: Asus ROG Maximus XI

Memory: 32gb DDR4 3200 mhz

I initially had had the optane drive installed but without any content on it. It was performing at the same speeds. I cloned everything over to it today and I'm not booting from it. This did not change its performance one way or the other.

Any help that could be offered will be much appreciated. Below are some of the benchmarking that shows under performance.

Intel SSD 540S 240GB Slowdown

I am currently troubleshooting an 540S series 240GB SSD. The computer it is used in runs Windows XP but has been performing well for the last few years. In the last few days it has become unstable with random reboots and 'No boot drive' type messages.

I removed the drive and connected it to a Windows 10 PC for investigation. I found that the 'Drive Health' indicator in the Intel SSD Toolbox software had gone down to a low level, so I made an image of the drive and erased it using Killdisk. I then updated the firmware to the latest version and ran the SSD Optimiser utility with the SSD Toolbox. This brought the drive back to a good health condition and I successfully restored the image backup I had made earlier. A read test showed there were no longer any errors on the drive.

I then ran a read-write test using HDD Sentinel to further check performance. This showed a rather chequered result with lots of dark areas where the drive took longer to record information. I have attached screenshots of this and the SMART data extracted from the Intel SSD Toolbox.

I would like to know if the result of the read-write test is normal or if it shows a natural degradation in performance that is to be expected, especially due to the fact it has been running in XP. If so, should the drive be replaced straight away or is it likely to perform reasonably well for the foreseeable future? Can anything be done to further improve performance?

Thank you,

Matt.

Intel 600p - cannot update drivers, cannot run Intel SSD Optimizer

Greetings,

I have been recently upgraded by Acer service center with a new SSD as the ones before were not compatible with my laptop (apparently), and I ended up having an Intel 600p 256 GB NVMe drive (SSDPEKKW256G7). Laptop is Acer Aspire VX15 (VX5-591G).

Tried to run some tests on it and optimize it as much as possible as the last SSD's were barely doing anything (transfer rates at 120MB/s, very varying), installed the Intel Solid State Drive Toolbox but cannot run the optimizer.

Done the update via Toolbox, but didn't sort the issue. Went into system info (inside Toolbox), and it shows as follows:

Controller - standard NVM Express, version 10.0.17134.81 (which relates to Microsoft Windows version 10.0.17134).

Tried updating via Intel NVME Miniport and Filter Device Managment (SetupNVME.exe), but ended up with an error: "Device not detected".

Checking drivers via device manager gives the following results:

-drivers supplier: Microsoft

-drivers date: 21.06.2006

-drivers version: 10.0.17134.81

Any thoughts how to update those drivers for some more "up to date" ones?

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Upgrade P3700 2TB firmware

I'm trying to upgrade the firmware of a couple INTEL SSDPEDMD020T4D HHHL NVMe 2000GB cards that I bought off eBay. The serial numbers are CVFT5180000A2P0EGN and CVFT540200382P0EGN. When trying to use isdct.exe to upgrade them, I get the message "Please contact your Intel representative about firmware update for this drive." The current firmware is 8DV10151. Is there anything I can do to upgrade these drive firmwares?

Thanks!!

Не работает Intel SSD Optimizer

I have not been able to find any list from either Intel or Dell about support of Intel SSD D3-S4510 drives in the Poweredge 14th gen (R740)

Would anyone be able to provide me with information about this subject.

Thank you in advance.

Intel Optane Memory "used" out of sealed packaging + packaging doesn't look authentic INTEL?

Hi.

I bought Intel Optane Memory Module 16GB PCIe M.2 80mm(MEMPEK1W016GAXT) from a rather popular/big retailer.

When received, the box/packaging was plain white with NO Intel logo/brand on. All the packaging/boxes I've seen is the distinct blue INTEL Optane boxes.

Immediately concerned I tried to open the box with my nail, and was helped by the person giving it to me to see the content. There was an INTEL Optane "device" in the box covered in brown box material. Checking closer, i noticed the memory has already been used, i.e. marks on the connection points.

When asking them about this I was told that perhaps INTEL tested this. A little later the same guy showed me that it was never fastened (no marks where the screw fastens the memory to the motherboard)

I was asked if I'm going to take it or not, and when replied no, I'm not taking used/2nd hand hardware I was told that they'll order another one but everything will be EXACTLY the same, mentioning packaging, seal etc.

From my knowledge, neither INTEL nor anyone else that I know of takes random hardware from the production line, test it and then package, seal and ship to be sold.

Also, the packaging (box) didn't look normal and there was also nothing else in the packaging for example the manual that I see on INTEL'S site.

What's in the Box for Intel® Optane™ Memory Series

Urgently advise as asked about INTEL testing equipment and also the strange, unfamiliar, non branded non labeled packaging/box it was in.

Kind regards,

Gerald.

Hi,

Write speed of my Intel SSD PRO 5450S 128 GB is around 100 MB/s (what is not acceptable). Read speed is OK (~500 MB/s). Drive is 1 week old. Installed in Lenovo Ideapad 320.

Any suggestions?
