Intel® SSD 760p Series 2TB has put itself into a read-only state.
Took me a few days to notice, as the drive is used for high-read/low-write purposes. I was having some strange software issues, and assumed they were software bugs. While trying to figure these out I discovered I couldn't create a new directory on the drive, then realized oh, this is a hardware problem.
All data is intact, Windows 10 treats the drive like it's healthy, but no writes go through.
Drive is only a few months old. I guess if something is going to break, better that it breaks soon. ;-D
Hello all, I am new to this community and have a question which I cannot find any answer. I have an Intel SSD 160mb 320 series which has my main System C drive. Every now and then (Daily) it decides to stop writing my incremental Acronis backups. The only way to fix this is to open my tower, unplug the power on the SSD, wait around 30 seconds, and then replug it...Then it can write again until the next time...This ussue has been going on for years!
Not fun to open the tower like that. My firmware is up to date and bios also, so I am clueless to what could be going on. Its obvious to me that the SSD is to blame as I have tried other image backup softwares and get the same lockups. a check disk on the SSD comes up with no errors.

Hi,
I have an SSD 540s series, or INTEL SSDSC2KW240H6. It's less than 2 years old.
I have since about a year back experienced that the disk seems to disconnect from the pc, while its still in use. Which crashes the OS (Windows) and forces a restart. The last time it did this, 31/10, the disk apparently wiped itself and there's nothing on it anymore. I have tried to let different software scan on it but nothing can be found. What is wrong with this disk and how do i fix it? How do I get my partitions back? Does it need to be replaced?
According to the Intel SSD toolbox, it is using the latest firmware. But it says SMART is disabled, which it isn't. See attached screenshots.
Any help and/or suggestions are appreciated. I'm quite stuck at this point.
i have 750 u.2 version(400G) and 730 SATA version(240G) 2 SSD
if i only intstall 750SSD, my SSD optimizer can work normally.
but when i install 730SSD, SSD optimizer only 730 can work(change to 750 can't push the excute buttion)
please teach me how to fix it~
Hi, I have a 1.2TB Intel DC P3520. After moving a VM library to the drive, the system started to give me I/O errors. I rebooted the machine and the drive no longer shows up in Windows or even the UEFI. The drive has solid yellow/orange light and green lights showing. Are there any ways to fix this? I tried it in two different machines so far. Still not showing.
Hi All,
I recently installed an Optane 900p 480gb SSD into my PC and it is underperforming on benchmarks. I have the SSD installed into a 4x PCIe slot on my motherboard. I wanted to reach out to the community to see if there is anything that I'm missing as far as optimization goes. The firmware installed is E2010325. I have Rapid Storage technology activated in my BIOS.
Windows 10 OS
CPU: Intel 8700k
MOBO: Asus ROG Maximus XI
Memory: 32gb DDR4 3200 mhz
I initially had had the optane drive installed but without any content on it. It was performing at the same speeds. I cloned everything over to it today and I'm not booting from it. This did not change its performance one way or the other.
Any help that could be offered will be much appreciated. Below are some of the benchmarking that shows under performance.
Hello
I wonder if someone can help me?
My Mythbuntu box informed me of no recordings this morning, bit of a shock as there should be 750GB worth.
Anyway to cut a long story short the OS drive had errors. It's a 180GB Intel SSD bought just over a year ago! Rebooting the box showed me a (initramfs) prompt saying that /dev/sda2 had errors. After performing an fsck:-
Inodes that were part of a corrupted orphan linked list were found so I OKd a fix.
A deleted inode had zero dtime, I OKd a fix.
Free blocks count was wrong, fixed.
Inode bitmap differences fixed.
Free inodes count wrong, fixed.
Another fsck after the above completed without errors.
A SMART run was done a week ago and completed OK.
Another one after the fsck also completed ok.
I've attached an image of the fsck output, was only able to get it as a photo on my mobile. Also attached are the SMART logs before and after the fsck.
Thanks for any advice.
Hi,
I want to update my 545s 1TB SSD firmware from LHF0B1C to LHF0B2C, but the update failed.
I have tried the following:
Updated with Intel SSD Toolbox 3.5.7, the results are as follows:
Updated on the notebook with Intel SSD Firmware Update Tool 3.0.5, the results are as follows:
Then I installed the SSD to my desktop and updated it with Intel SSD Firmware Update Tool 3.0.5. The results are as follows:
How can I update successfully? Help me please, thanks.
Same problem here. Disk is locked with read-only status and cant do anything such format, repartition or only delete data to RMA.
I did backup all data and need secure erase all data, but cant.
Please help.
SSD Intel 600p nvme 256g.

Hi,
Write speed of my Intel SSD PRO 5450S 128 GB is around 100 MB/s (what is not acceptable). Read speed is OK (~500 MB/s). Drive is 1 week old. Installed in Lenovo Ideapad 320.
Any suggestions?
AHCI mode enabled.
TRIM enabled.
OS: Windows 10 x64 Ent (latest updates installed).
Same issue under Win 8.1 PE.
I am currently troubleshooting an 540S series 240GB SSD. The computer it is used in runs Windows XP but has been performing well for the last few years. In the last few days it has become unstable with random reboots and 'No boot drive' type messages.
I removed the drive and connected it to a Windows 10 PC for investigation. I found that the 'Drive Health' indicator in the Intel SSD Toolbox software had gone down to a low level, so I made an image of the drive and erased it using Killdisk. I then updated the firmware to the latest version and ran the SSD Optimiser utility with the SSD Toolbox. This brought the drive back to a good health condition and I successfully restored the image backup I had made earlier. A read test showed there were no longer any errors on the drive.
I then ran a read-write test using HDD Sentinel to further check performance. This showed a rather chequered result with lots of dark areas where the drive took longer to record information. I have attached screenshots of this and the SMART data extracted from the Intel SSD Toolbox.
I would like to know if the result of the read-write test is normal or if it shows a natural degradation in performance that is to be expected, especially due to the fact it has been running in XP. If so, should the drive be replaced straight away or is it likely to perform reasonably well for the foreseeable future? Can anything be done to further improve performance?
Thank you,
Matt.
Hi
I have not been able to find any list from either Intel or Dell about support of Intel SSD D3-S4510 drives in the Poweredge 14th gen (R740)
Would anyone be able to provide me with information about this subject.
Thank you in advance.
Hello, I would like to ask for help about Intel SSD 320 series 8MB bug.
Recently I found my ssd (Intel SSD 320 series 160GB) which my pc recognized it as 8MB because of a sudden power loss a long ago. At that moment I thought it was completely dead, never able to fix by myself. Being free today, I just searched about the bug, and realized there is a bug fix firmware for my ssd!
As soon as I read the instruction, I downloaded the image file immediately, burned it on a usb drive with a utility named rufus, and then I turned off my computer. Afterwards I replaced my hdd with the ssd (It means I connected the ssd directly to the motherboard using sata cable.), connected the usb drive as well, and booted up.
BIOS also recognized both drives. then I changed the boot device order.
Boot was successful, but something went wrong.
It doesn't work. I tried it on another desktop.
It doesn't work neither.
Crystal Disk Info says :
There isn't any important data inside the drive, so It doesn't matter if my ssd gets full data loss or not. I just want to revive it. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
New Supermicro Vmware vSAN Environment, when we perform any NVMe removal/addition we trigger a VMware purple screen issue, this is quite common to happen when you do not enable Intel VMD feature on NVMe drive technologies (because it’s like removing memory from the CPU in “hot” without having support for it). However, we know that Intel VMD technology feature has been enabled on our Supermicro server (BIOS) for all PStack/PCI-Switches and NVMe drives.
Please note that:
During our purplescreen troubleshooting that happened every time we triggered a Hot-Plug event (for capacity drive), we encountered the following error:
2018-10-12T18:12:26.307Z cpu27:79194)@BlueScreen: #PF Exception 14 in world 79194:isdct IP 0x418037e024f5 addr 0x430ae01c50e6
PTEs:0x800000010080c023;0x800000808e2b0063;0x800000012661b063;0x0;
2018-10-12T18:12:26.307Z cpu27:79194)Code start: 0x418037400000 VMK uptime: 0:00:36:26.986
2018-10-12T18:12:26.307Z cpu27:79194)0x43932ad1b890:[0x418037e024f5]nvme_MgmtAdminCmds@(intel-nvme-vmd)#<None>+0x3d stack: 0x418037e03be0
We decided to remove the isdct being reported during fails, once done we proceeded to remove/add multiple NVMe drives and no purple screen happened. We decided to install ISDCT again and the purple screen started happening again, we then removed the ISDCT and the purple screen was not experienced again, we even proceeded by hot-plug 8 disks at the same time and no purple screen happened again.
This led us to think that Intel SSD Datacenter Tool 3.0.14 might be the root cause of the purple screens while Hot-Plug. We enabled Intel SSD DC Tool logging mode and replicated the purple screen issue, however we didn’t find more detail at this level.
Intel released a new Intel Datacenter Tool about 1 week ago, they’re addressing “Miscellaneous Bugs”, however new release 3.0.15 was released only for Windows/Linux systems and it seems that Intel will release it for VMware soon, it’s more likely that they will fix this issue in that version, however we haven’t found any official note about this problem.
As for the moment, if we remove isdct hot plug works great and purple screen does not happen, however as you know this utility is very important for accessing relevant NVMe drive information/sensor and other maintenance/reporting tasks.
Does anyone else is experiencing this issue? We're troubleshooting with Supermicro, however this does seem to be an issue related with intel SSD DC Tool/VMware environment, something that we wouldn't expect considering that isdct is just a tool. Intel NVMe drivers seem to be doing their work with no problems.
I'll appreciate your help.

Hello all,
I am having constant issues with Windows 10 booting from my VROC RAID0 volume. In about 30% of cases Windows boot hangs with the balls rolling indefinitely. The only help is to use hard reset. I believe I have a configuration that should be fully supported according to Intel documentation.
Here are the most relevant details of my configuration:
Intel Xeon W-2155
ASUS WS C422 Pro/SE (latest BIOS version 702)
Intel VROCPREMMOD Key
ASUS Hyper M.2 X16
Samsung SM961 MZVKW1T0HMLH (four units)
no other storage devices connected to either PCH or VMD
Broadcom MegaRAID 9460-16i controller (with non-bootable RAID6 using mechanical disks)
I have one VROC array configured with two volumes: RAID0 boot volume (1TB), and RAID5 data volume (2TB). Windows was freshly installed with the help of F6 drivers version 5.3.0.1413.
Best regards,
Karol
Bonjour,
