Is the Intel SSD 750 bootable with Windows 10 x64 in a C602/X79 board?

hi,

I wonder if the Intel SSD 750 will be bootable in my PC with Windows 10 64x.

It is a Fujitsu Celsius M720 (bought in 2012), the mainboard is "Fujitsu D3128-A1x" with a Intel chipset C602/X79 (Intel Xeon E5-1620 3.60GHz).

It is no problem to boot with a Windows 10 64x USB stick in the UEFI mode and to install Windows 10 64x on a hard disk formatted with GPT.

But will it be possible to install Windows 10 x64 on a Intel SSD 750? (the SSD is only intended for the operating system, not for the data files).

I read about the requirements for using the Intel SSD 750. And I read the Intel® SSD 750 Series — Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), the Information Intel® High Performance Solid-State Drives — Booting an NVMe* PCI Express* Solid State Drive, Intel® SSD 750 Series — Before You Buy as well as some hints by jonathan_intel, aleki_intel and other Intel support members here in the discussion board.

- PCIe Gen3 x4: There a two free PCIe x4 Gen3 slots on the board (and a free PCIe x16 Gen3 slot).

- NVMe boot: Does anybody know, it the C602/X79 chipset is able for a NVMe boot? I thought, this is only a requirement for the operating system (Windows 10 x64 has a build-in device driver for NVMe), but not for the main board?

- uEFI 2.3.1 BIOS: Unfortunately, I don't know how to determine the version of the UEFI BIOS. The BIOS firmware was last updated in July 2015. When entering the BIOS setup, no version number for uefi is shown (only for the the actual BIOS version). With the utility HW-Info, the following information can be identified:

  - BIOS Manufacturer: American Megatrends

  - BIOS Date: 05/06/2015

  - BIOS Version: V4.6.5.3 R1.16.0 for D3128-A1x (the same is shown with the cmd command "wmic bios get smbiosbiosversion")

  - UEFI BIOS: Capable

But there is no information about the version of the UEFI-Bios. How can I find out the version of the UEFI Bios?

I asked the Fujitsu support here in Germany some days ago, I got no answer so far.

I read also about the other Intel SSD's like P3500/3600/3700, but they are too expensive for me.

Thank you for your help.

Greetings from Germany :-)

ciao
