In the market for an Intel 750 Series

I'm in the market for a new SSD. I had a bad experience with a M.2 drive, where I had to use an adapter for the PCI slot because the board didn't have a M.2 slot but the bios never recognized the drive so it would never boot to it.

The Intel 750 SSD appears to be a PCI only type drive not a M.2. Here are the specs on the machine I'd like to install it on, my question, will I be more successful to get it recognized as a bootable drive or not?

X99 Motherboard (MSI) but it is not out of the box board. Board came on the Area 51 PC that I bought last December.

PCIe is Gen 3

So will this drive be easier to recognize by the PC? I'm curious what configuration settings may be required in the bios. That may be my determining factor is if the settings that need to be changed to support this drive are not available. (hope that makes sense)

Any links or experiences would be helpful.

Thanks,

Greg
